We have wonderful news to share with all our translators.
Working from Mexico has been amazing—we love Mexico, in fact!
We have been bringing projects to our translators from all over the world, and our geographical location has given us a strategic position to work with clients in America.
Now, we believe audiovisual producers deserve to be served with excellence.
We want nothing more than to take the challenge and exceed their expectations, which in turn, will result in more projects for our translators.
So, if despite the geographical limitations, we’ve been able to provide excellence in our service to our European, African and Asian clients, imagine if we were working from Europe as well!
With that in mind, we’re extremely proud and happy to share with you the fact that we’re expanding by opening Collot Baca Subtitling offices in Switzerland to better serve our European clients and to offer our reliable services to new...
Do you want to get a lot of clients? Then you'll want to give great service.
In this article I want to share with you the gift of knowledge that will help you define it and determine the type you currently offer.
Please share in the comment section whether this article was helpful and what actions you will take.
First, you need to define what service is. Oxford Dictionary offers this definition:
Assistance or advice given to customers during and after the sale of goods. ‘they aim to provide better quality of service’
Then, you need to determine exactly what it is that you do—what your valuable final product is.
For example, if you work at a company that sells cookies and your job is to pack those cookies, your valuable final product is not to pack cookies: it’s the actual sale of the cookies.
Your customer wants cookies and your job is to create a kind of bridge that the...
THE PATH TO SUCCESS CONSISTS OF THREE BASIC STEPS:
STEP 1: SETTING A CLEAR GOAL
Setting a clear goal is a fundamental first step.
It’s setting a clear end to your path.
Knowing this allows you to get ready, train and prepare yourself with all the necessary tools needed to the (now known) path that lies ahead of you.
STEP 2: GET THE RIGHT TOOLS
Now that you know where you’re going (your goal), it’s time to prepare with the right tools that will get you there.
For example, if it’s translation or subtitling, you need:
This is also fundamental, because even if you’re very clear on where you’re going, if you don’t have the right tools, you lower your chances or ease of getting there.
STEP 3: TEAM UP
The fact is, no one does anything of great importance by themselves.
When you’re heading in a certain direction, let’s say your office or home, what do you do to get there? You set the direction in your mind, then you get in your car and then you proceed to drive, taking the route you find most convenient.
Well, you follow the same steps when you decide to reach a goal:
1) First, you decide what you want. For instance, a better job, raising your sales, making more money, getting a raise at work.
2) Then, you use the tools you have at reach.
3) Finally, you get into action heading in the direction you consider best.
You see, it’s the same cycle of action, but in different scenarios.
We can go and review what many great men and motivators share with us. They often tell you, “set your goal, learn and get into action,” and it’s true.
But what happens if, after following these steps, you don’t...
Does it sound absurd to think that even though a person has knowledge on a subject, he or she might make mistakes?
The truth is, it happens, and more than people can imagine or even want to admit.
It's true that the mind is designed to make calculations and reach conclusions, but it only operates based on the data you input into it (I'll show you in a future post the ways in which you do that).
When you input into your mind: false, incomplete or misunderstood data, it will make calculations that will throw false conclusions.
The world remedy for this phenomenon which I call "the mind fed with false data", is the justification.
Nevertheless, a different picture does exist:
What does the mind do when it has correct data and still makes mistakes?
As I already mentioned, it does sound absurd to even try and reason why would someone make mistakes even though they have the right knowledge?
Yet, it does happen.
Just like with the "mind fed...
